"Files of Type" entries missing

When I try to Import a new table into Access XP and look at the "Files of
Type" box all I have are MDB,XML and ODBC. Looking at the registry I do not
have the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engines" entry where
the keys should live. I have it for Office 97 (Jet 3.5) which is also
installed on this PC. How do I get this key and it's sub entries entered
into the registry for Office XP?

Hi,

Try re-registering the following DLLs:
msexcl40.dll (Excel)
msxbse40.dll (dBase)
mspdox40.dll (Paradox)
mstext40.dll (Text, CSV, tab-delimited))

Thanks John!! That did it. I even found a few others to register. I really
appreciate it.
Later,
Jim
