File's Modified date/time in the future

I have a handful of files that have shown up that have been recently actively
worked on in which the file's modified date/time are in the future - 60 years
in the future.

For example - a file modified 1/11/2006 at 4:45 PM now shows as being
modified on 8/9/2066 at 2:16 AM. The obvious things have been checked BIOS
date and time are correct, the event log doesn't show any events for time
changing, etc. I am at a loss for how these files are having such skewed
modified attributes. Anyone have any input?
 
Do all the applications do this? Or is it just one app or suite of apps (like
Office)? Does your pc have the right year set? Does it use some other than
default time server to sync time?
