Right-click/Rename. However, please be aware that simply changing the
file extension may not do what you want. Ex. - You can't change a .bmp
to a .jpg by just changing the file extension; you need a conversion
program.

If you want more help, provide more details about what you are trying to
do and why.

By default, Windows Explorer (as well as the file open and file save
dialogs) doesn't show file extensions. This is *always* one of the
first things I reverse on an XP system. From Windows Explorer, choose
Tools|Folder Options, and click the "View" tab. In the "Advanced
settings" box, find "Hide extensions for known file types" and remove
the check mark. (I also remove the check mark from "Hide protected
operating system files". I want to see everything!)

Now you'll be able to see the extensions and you can change them in
the same way you'd change any other part of the file name. Bear in
mind that Malke makes a very good point about changing extensions not
being the same thing as changing file formats. Changing a wav
extension to mp3 doesn't change the waveform file to an MP3 file. It
will confuse programs that try to use the file.
