Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

I am trying to transfer files from an old desktop running
windows 98 to a new desktop running xp home. The
computers are networked (ethernet) but when I get to the
the files and settings transfer wizard page to select a
transfer method, the one I need (Home or small office
network) is grayed out. Can anyone help?

tell it to save locally (create an empty folder) ...then go to the new
computer (after files collected) and just tell it you have collected the
files and show it on the network which directory to use
