Hi,

I am running Windows 2000 and installed a graphics program which was a
trail. When it expired, I deleted it. However, it must have taken some of
my files away. Now when I click on a photo (extension .jpg, .tif, gif,
etc.), the computer doesn't know how to open it. I get the grey box to
associate a program but I can't find where it is located. Pics open ok with
Word and Publisher, it is just when I am trying to open them by themselves.
Any suggestions??

Thanks!

The easiest method; While in Explorer, right click on a file of the type in
question, then choose "Open With", "Choose Program", then choose and check
the box for "Always use this program....."

Dave,

Thanks for responding. I understand how to do that but what file do I
associate it with and where is that file located? I can't seem to find a
file to do the action.

Sounds like these are all going to be graphics type files. You might find it easier to just download the freeware program, IrfanView, then use it as the viewer for those files. It's a pretty good viewer, with some limited editing capabilities too, I use it all the time. http://www.irfanview.com/
