I ran Spybot software on my pc from
www.microsoft.com/spyware and chose a search and delete.
Now when I try to open any application besides Internet
Explorer I get this message: **This file does not have a
program associated with it for performing this action.
create an association in the "floder Options" control
panel.** I am running Windows XP SP1. Thanks

Get the file association fix from Doug Knox's site:

You probably had a nasty that had intercepted the file association -
remove that intercept and there is no association. Go to
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/xp_fixes.html
and get the File Association fix, near bottom on left - download and run
