Verify that you still have security permissions set properly on the C: drive.
By defulat "Administrators & System" have FC and "Users" "Read Execute"
Check to see if a file "autorun.inf" exists on C: if it does delete and run
virus scans and malware removal tools.

Also make sure scanning has completed.

Hi BB202,

I was facing the same problem before when I got a ImgKlot Spyware or Virus. I deleted the virus but it created problems of not opening the drives by double click. So I tried various methods and found a file "Autorun" hidden on each drive. When I deleted that file the problem solved. So how to delete the file is

1. Open "Folder Options" (In Control Panel)

2. There click on "View Tab"

3. Now Select Option Box "Show Hidden Files and Folders"

4. Below there UnCheck "Hide protected Operating System files" Check Box. A warning message appears But You have to click Yes.

5. Click Apply Button and Close Folder Optins.

Now Open MY COMPUTER and from the Address Bar Dropdown List Select Drive C or D or E (As these drives are not opened by double clicking)
There You will see this "autorun" file. Delete this file and then RESTART Your computer.
After Restart Check Your Drives if Open by Double Click. If succeded then go to Folder Options again and change it to the default as was before.

Sorry for weak English

Cheers
