I have some files I need to view everyday. The file have extensions of
20050201 meaning the date.

Everyday when I double click on one I get the window that states it doesn't
know what program to use to view it. I understand that the extension is
not a known one and pick notepad.

Is there a way I could say any extension that starts with 2005 use this
program? Like a wild card?

Is there a program that will automatically assign all 2005MMDD extensions to
the Notepad program?

Thanks,

Rog

You are creating your own problem by customizing file extensions. Customize
the file name and NOT the extension. You'll have no problems on which program
to use to open them nor file association problems.

No. I'm not creating my own problem, Byte :-)
