file transfer

hey guys,

i am new with vista, but how come i cannot transfer my old files & settings
to the new OS. i used to run xp and saved all the important settings but
now i am getting errors when transferring...something about "not
compatible"....HELP!!!!

Hi,

You have to use the Vista tool - Windows Easy Transfer - not the XP tool to
migrate settings. It should be run from the Vista disk prior to upgrading a
machine.

Hi,

In addition, the export from the XP system must be made with the Vista tool,
it cannot be used to import the file created by the XP FASTWIZ tool.
