Penny

I just updated to windows XP, and am having some
troubles. I have tried making back ups of my files, to
transfer to my laptop, and on both of the files, not all
info copies, I'm missing about a month or so of info.
I've also tried connecting the two computers together via
direct cable, but am unsuccsseful also. The computers
both search but can't find the other.
Any suggestions????

Thank you, Penny

Try download the Windows XP from microsoft.com updates
that it let you do transfer wizard via two xp computer
using usb connetion if you have trouble getting files.

SO you don't have to do a back up.
If you do backup, do it 3 times, and store in 3 different
places.

Making backups of your two files onto CD? So a chunk is missing. I would
try again using a low speed. [Start] > [My Computer] > Rt. click [CD Drive]
[Properties] > [Recording] > Writing Speed; I set mine to x4.

I have no experience in cable connecting two computers, so I can't comment
on your 2nd inquiry. However, I have read that files can be easily
transferred as e-mail messages, as long as the individual e-mail size does
not exceed the permitted capacity provided by your ISP.
