File Transfer - when?

B

Bill

I will be using the File and Setting Transfer Wizard from old to new
computer. I have already 'saved' the files from the old on a CD and need to
know when to transfer them to the new.

Do I install all the software, ex: Office 2003, QuickBooks, Adobe, WinZip,
etc. BEFORE I transfer the files, or AFTER?

TIA

No hard, fast rule - But FAST will include program options for some
non-native XP programs. So probably a good idea to at least install
Office & Adobe. Also, Office (XP/2003) has it's own "Save Settings"
tool, which is handy for replicating your existing Office customizations.
In most recent Office Suites the tool is found under Office Tools as
Save my Settings. By default it should be installed. If not, you can run
the Office Setup module and add it to your existing machine to capture
your current config.
