file transfer status not being displayed

hi i am using windows vista home premium .

i have had this problem since i reinstalled windows vista. every time i want
to transfer a file from my hard drive to a portable device like my usb or
external hard drive the file copies over but the transfer status never comes
up. so i dont know how long i have to wait untill the file is copied over.
this is very annoying and i have searched the internet and not found any
solution for it. help would be much appreciated. thank you

Because Vista is crap
You wouldn't have file xfer issues in WinXP
