File Synchronization

I have a desktop & laptop networked. Each has XP Pro sp2.
I have a lot of jpg files. Sometimes new jpgs are added to one computer,
sometimes the other. Sometimes deletions and/or changes are made on one or
the other. I'd like to have both computers have the same files, both for
backup purposes and so I know I'll have the jpg I need no matter which
computer I happen to be using.

It seems to me as if the XP "offline files" method is kind of clunky, and
also can't be used when "fast user switching" is turned on (which it is on
these 2 PCs), but I'm willing to learn and to live without FUS if really
necessary.

Does anyone have any experience/comments on:
