File sync occurring on workstations I log into

I'm the domain admin, and I started tinkering with roaming profiles, and
GPO's. I set a GPO for myself that would enforce file syncing. Then, I
created a roaming profile for myself. Roaming profiles is a complete piece
of garbage technology that ended up replicating all the icons in my quickbar
every time I logged onto anotherworkstation. But I digress. I removed the
roaming profile setting from my AD profile. I also got rid of the file sync
part of the GPO that applies to me. That's why this problem is weird.

Every workstation I log into (and subsequently log out, when done), the
normal user will get a file sync window for MY FILES when they log out of
THEIR profile. Of course, they don't have permissions to my files, and the
operation fails. They also try to sync files from shares that I use (like
\\mailserver\c$). This is obviously a big inconvenience. I can't figure out
where the issue lies....this just occurred on a machine with a brand new
install last Tuesday. There aren't ANY GPO's that have file sync turned on,
except for one, and I've restricted its use to two users and two
workstations.

Roaming profiles is a powerful tool and you shouldn't judge it based on your
lack of knowledge about it.

First, start simple. Don't add any GPO info. Make sure you can figure out
how the profiles work. Once you have established that your roaming profiles
work on all machines then start adding GPO info.

Thanks, that is good advice for next time, but at the moment I have the
problem described below. It's driving people nuts. I can't find reference
to the folders below in the registry (HKLM and HKU anyway).
