File size jump from 5MB to 295MB

Each week I update my database by adding about 50 records to four tables.
Normally, there is a neglible increase in file size. However, this week, the
file size jumped from 5MB to 295MB. What's going on?

Compact and repair database from the tools menu
That should do the trick
