I have 50 computers on a network. All computers have same password for
username (administrator). I have file sharing activated. My problem is -
each time I type \\computername\c$, I am able to access the C drive without
prompting for the username and password. How can this be prevented? How
can I have the computer prompt for the username and password for access?

Thanks

Having 50 PCs logging on as "Administrator" is not a good idea. It creates
exactly the type of issue that you're dealing with.Users should log on under
an account other than "Administrator" and with privileges that are just
sufficient for the job they need to do.

The same goes for the share name. Giving users access to C$ is bad news. You
should create your own share, e.g. "DriveC", then set the share permissions
to an account other than the users' logon account. This will force users to
enter an account name and password.
