File Sharing

I have a small home network (No server) and am having issues with accessing
files across the network. I can see (from my desktop or my wireless
connected laptop)but not access files on the number two desktop. Number two
desktop can see and access files on my number one desktop.

Number two machine has a shared printer that I can use from desktop one or
laptop.

Can anyone tell me what is missing that is keeping me from accessing the
files on nmber two?

Thanx for your help

Both computers must be under the same workgroup name (Start\Control
Panel\System\Computer name\change\workgroup name) and must have the C:\
drive shared; (or whichever drive you wish to share) C:\Properties\Sharing\
select "Share this drive". If you have any trouble after that, it's just a
matter of granting the appropriate security permissions to user accounts or
user groups y the drive properties\Security tab. To enable the security tab
on XP Pro, Tools\Folder Options\View\uncheck "Use simple file sharing
(recommended)" and on XP home edition you have to logon in safe mode to have
the security tab available.

Also, the "Server" and "Computer browser" services must be enabled, which
are by default but check if you need to in; Start\Run\type "services.exe"
(no quotes) and enter.
