File sharing XP Pro to Home

On my home network I am trying to connect three computers. Two are running XP Pro the other is XP home. While XP home can see and access the other two computers with no problem. The other computers can see the computers in the network and their shared folders but can not see the files of the XP Home computer. When I click on the folder an error message comes up " \\Computername\folder is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions." Any suggestions?

Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions." Any suggestions?

Run the Network Setup Wizard on the XP Home computer to fully enable
file sharing:

XP ICS - Starting the Network Setup Wizard
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/networksetupwiz.htm

That's usually all that's needed. If that doesn't fix it, try these
tips:

1. Permanently disable XP's built-in Internet Connection Firewall on
local area network connections -- it's for use only on a direct modem
connection to the Internet. Disable and un-install all other
firewalls while troubleshooting. Details here:

Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/ic_firewall.htm

2. Use only one protocol for File and Printer Sharing. If the network
needs more than one protocol, unbind File and Printer Sharing from all
but one of them. Details here:

Windows XP Network Protocols
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/network_protocols.htm

3. Make sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on all computers.
Details here:

Enable NetBIOS Over TCP/IP (NetBT)
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/troubleshoot/netbt.htm

4. Run "ipconfig /all" on XP and look at the "Node Type" at the
beginning of the output. If it says "Peer-to-Peer" (which should
actually be "Point-to-Point") that's the problem. It means that the
computer only uses a WINS server, which isn't available on a
peer-to-peer network for NetBIOS name resolution.

If that's the case, run the registry editor, open this key:

HLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netbt\Parameters

and delete these values if they're present:

NodeType
DhcpNodeType

Reboot, then try network access again.

If that doesn't fix it, open that registry key again, create a DWORD
value called "NodeType", and set it to 1 for "Broadcast" or 4 for
"Mixed".

Everything looks okay. But the XP Pro still can not access the XP Home computer. Yet th Home can see everything. Seems like something is blocking it. NO other firewall except the Microsoft router.

What's the entire error? There should be something that follows. That error
is pretty generic and it doesn't tell you much except there is a problem
with the network.

It may help to ensure NetBIOS over TCP/IP on all computers. Details here.

" \\Computername\folder is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions."

This is the whole message and the Netbios is configured on all the computers. Glad to see it is not a slam dunk fix that I overlooked. It's the strangest thing. It's like a secret setting somewhere.

I am having the exact same problem unable to access folders on my xp home machine from my xp pro machine I get the same error and have tried everything suggested nothing works. Have you had any luck fixing this? My file sharing was working fine then this error started and I did not do anything to the network or permissions.
