File Sharing over network

This one has me foxed!

From my downstairs computer I can access one folder of
files (jpeg photos actually)from the main computer with
no problem. However all another folders of photos, which
are in the same subdirectory, are not accessable from
the downstairs computer.

I have set the same file sharing privilages for all these
folders, I have ensured file sharing is on in both
computers, I have switched 'browser services' on in both
computer, but still I can only see this one folder.

For the other folders I get an error message when I try
to import a file over the network (ususlly a bland "an
error occured while importing the file...")or the
application does not recognise it as a jpeg.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks, Richard

Thanks Neo

I had tried this already and have just checked again -
both are done for all the computers (all two, ahem!)

Any other ideas

Thanks again

Richard

Have you tried putting folders in the Shared folder.

Can you access them if you add them using Add Network Places?

Richard,

are these files on an NTFS partition and does the computer run
under Windows XP Professional with Simple File Sharing disabled?

In that case you have to set access rights for all folders and
files as well, in addition to those you gave to the share. You
need both.
