File sharing between Workgroups and Domains?

I have a laptop running W2K that I connect to my home network to access my
company's domain servers through a router and VPN. I would like to create a
share between the laptop and my home PC running XP Pro. The home PC is
configured for a workgroup. I can ping the home PC from my laptop but when I
try to add or link a share I get the following error: "There are currently no
logon servers available to service the logon request."

Is it possible to create shares between these two computers? If so, is there
a way to do it without the home PC joining the company's domain?

From the domain computer, use:

NET USE (\\homecomputername\homesharename) (password) /USER:(username)

where the items in parentheses are replaced with the name of the computer
you're trying to connect to, a valid password and a valid user name on the
home computer in that order. Of course remove the parentheses also. :)
