File share problem

I have 2 windows 2000 servers.

server1 is the PDC
server2 is the BDC

I have set up a file share on server2 called apps

If I log onto an XP workstation as a user I am able to map
a drive to \\server2\apps

If I log onto an NT workstation as the same user I am
prompted for a password and the only way it will let me
connect is if I put in the domain administrator username
and password.

I have created the same share on server1 and I am able to
map a drive to it from any workstation as any user.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Well....there are no PDC's or BDC's in 2000. That was
NT's realm. Think of 2000 more along the lines of
Novell, where all Domain Controllers share the
responsibility. With 2000 though, (1) server is the PDC
Emulator. Has server2 been promoted to a Domain
Controller. ?

Is WINS installed on the server? NT4 needs it (as do W9x and ME).
