File Server new files and folders invisible until refresh

When I goto our office file server from this particular computer I can see
everything on the server just fine, and access everything. However if I
create a new folder move or copy files or rename anything on this file server
the changes don't show at all until I refresh my view.

I'll right click and create a new folder. I'll then have to refresh my
screen to even see it. Then I'll rename it, and press enter. It will show me
the old name of New Folder which doesn't even exist anymore since it was
renamed. If I refresh the screen my folder with it's new name is shown and
accessible. If I copy or move files from this computer to any directory on
the server they are invisible until I refresh the view, then they appear.

This is only a problem on this one machine. This machine if a fresh clean
install of XP Professional with 3.2GHz P4, 512MB Ram, 128MB Video PCI-E.
Occasionally after a reboot if I work with the network at that time they
function normally, but then later on the problem resumes. There is no unusual
software on this machine that hasn't ran just fine in the past.

Does anyone have any suggestions, this is really an irritating issue that
only occurs when communicating with this file server which is also the DC for
this network?

When you create folders, are they subfolders, or root folders, in a given share?
This sounds like a side effect of my implementing this fix:

I am glad to know that mine is not the only computer doing this! Mine is
doing this exactly. I have a standalone machine but do use a shared drive on
our network. It is driving me crazy. Does anyone have a fix?

Hi Chris,
As of yet no one has been able to give me an answer of how to resolve this
issue. Please keep the board posted if you find a solution, and good luck!

I also have the same problem but it only affects certain network folders.
Luckily only 2 or 3 folders are messed up at this time. All other folders
work normally. The folders on my machine that are messed up work fine when
accessed from other machines.

Anything I do... rename, add a file, delete a file, etc requires that I
manually refresh the affected folders to see my changes. It does not matter
if I am working in the folder or within microsoft word or microsoft excel.
If I change the file name, save a copy, or make any other changes that will
show up in the folder view, a manual refresh is required to see the actual
change. I thought there might be some individual folder setting that I
inadvertantly changed but have not been able to figure out how to fix it.
I've had one of our IT people look at it and they are as baffled as me.

ARRRGGGGGHHHH!!!!!
