File saves as XML back to XLS?

Is it possible to resave a file in XML back so that it can be read in XLS?
(saved in error). I have tried renaming to .xls and tried importing - all to
no avail. Thanks in advance.
 
Did you just try to use File|Open to open the .xml file.

When I saved a test workbook as .xml, I did get a message that my VBA project
wouldn't be saved. That might mean trouble for you (if you had macros in that
workbook).

But then I just did File|Open and the .xml file opened nicely.

I was using xl2003, though.
