File Replication FRS DFS

Good day. I wish to use FRS for disaster recovery, not to provide
duplicate user sources for files. The proof environment is:

(DC) Win2000 Svr: AD
(1) Win2000 Svr: File Host (replication originator).
(2) Win2000 Svr: Standby (replication destination).
FRS-Cache-Dir: >4GB

I have read about 50% of the posts in this newgroup going back to
6/2003, if the subject looks relevant to replication. Most are
talking about domain topology replication between DCs.

The attempts I made to do file replication have all filed to copy any
files from (1) to (2). One attempt caused the folder structure from
(1) to be created on (2), but no files. I even tried resetting the
archive bits on (1)'s data files, but no help. Tried manually
creating files, they did not copy. Tried copying a few dozen files
into the folder structure, nothing. The volume of files is only
200kb, the count is less than a few dozen.

Questions:

1. Would someone provide a URL to a step-by-step on how to use FRS to
create a copy of all files from (1) to (2)?

2. Once this works, I have to implement it on a 2TB system with 35
million files, over 500k folders. There are about 8 partitions on the
source system which need to be replicated. How big of a FRS-Cache
will be needed? Tips on performance?

Thanks in advance,
Grok

Hi, there is a newsgorup for DFS_FRS you may find better support there.
