File Replication Error

D

Daniel

I have been getting this error in the File Replicaton Log:
Event ID 13559, source Ntfrs. It tells me that the replica
path has changed from c:\winnt\sysvol\domain to
c:\winnt\sysvol\domain. Of course the path is the same and
I'm not sure why this is happenning. I have checked the KB
and I only found one article and have followed the
suggestions there to remedy the problem with no success. I
have plenty of space in the C drive, and I am not sure how
or what type of file to create in the root path
(NTFRS_CMD_FILE_MOVE_ROOT) which is suggested by the error
log itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

Hello Daniel,

Place an empty file called NTFRS_CMD_FILE_MOVE_ROOT in the root path as the
error
indicates.

The error does not mention the format of the file or its contents but that
is OK,
since the file can just be a text file with no extension. The name of the
file is
the only thing FRS is looking for. Think of it as a marker file telling frs
what to
do next.

After placing the file there, stop and start the File Replication Service.

The above method should fix the issue, some versions of Powerquest V2I
Protector have been reported to maybe cause this to happen occasionally.

Thank you so much Buz, I placed the file in the path and
with in five minutes the error was fixed. And FYI, yes it
was probably PowerQuest, I do have it installed in that
system, and it was the only DC out of 5 that I have that
was giving me that error. Thank you so much again.
