File Properties

In a previous version, my file properties, including
comments, were visible whenever I hovered over a filename
in my Windows explorer. That is no longer true with XP. I
have to right click to properties and open each one to
read the notes I have made. Is there a setting I'm missing
somewhere or did this function go away?
 
In Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options, View and enable Show pop-up
descriptions for folder and desktop items.

In Control Panel - Folder Options - View have the box
'show popup descriptions. . .' (next to bottom) checked, and click
Apply
