File Properties Keywords and Categories

What are the intended purposes of the fields, Keywords and Category on the
File/ Properties/Summary tab. The reason I ask is that I am trying to make my
presentation files easy to find on our intranet. I tried to add an odd word
in the keywords section and then search for that word, but the file did not
come up in the search? Is there some other place to notate keywords (meta
tags) in the file. Thanks for any assistance.

I suppose it'll depend on the software being used for the search and whether or
not it supports the keywords in PPT files. That's assuming you're publishing
PPT and not HTML-made-from-ppt on your intranet.

Fill in a few details and let's see where it leads.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I contacted our web gurus to ask them if our new
web search engine will be able to use these fields to sercah by, and they
said yes! I was also correct in suspecting that our current web search could
not, after doing a test. Thanks again. Kim
