File & Print Sharing ???

Hi there,

I have setup a wired network using a cable dsl modem, router and two
computers. The computers are running on the same work group. One computer can
see the other computer but dosnt have permission to connect why(this computer
is running a network card with win XP home sp2)??? The other computer dosnt
show any and times out when trying to find the workgroup(this computer is
running a built in network port with win XP pro sp2).

All my file and print sharing on the network connection settings is set ok.
Internet is shared ok and ip works fine!

Any ideas im fed up of running up and down with a flash disk!?

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall. There are other possibilities too, and any one of
these problems can cause your symptoms. Please read this article with an open
mind.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
