File permissions

Hi,

The following problem occurs. When users save a document on their
shared drive, the file gets the permission settings from the folder
and the user becomes owner of the file. This is fine and expected,
there are however some users which this doesn't apply to.

When those users save their documents, the file gets Everyone Read &
Execute permissions, not the permissions of the folder. Problem is,
next time the document is opened, they only can save the file to a new
name. The problem can't be reproduced with other or new accounts, they
save the files with te correct permissions.

Anyone know a solution??

Thanks,
Rob

sorry odnt fully undertsan dyour prob but isnt there way
aorind it by either blocking inheritable permission
flowing though the folder i.e form parent-child or
cretaing new global groups and local groups so that the
users with the problem jhave the adequate permissons?

Folder permissions are not inherited through the directory tree. Users
are part of a global group, that group is part of a local group which
has the correct permissions on the folder.

When most users create a new file, the permissions follow the
permissions of the directory. So the correct permissions are placed on
the new file. Some other users however, the files they save only get
Everybody Read-Execute permissions. This happens in the same folder.
