file name

recently tried to save a picture from a friend the file name was trying to
save as "art" when i tried to view this later ,, i couldnt open it nor could
i change it ot anything else,, am i missing something

In the future you may receive other graphic files which will not open

when you said, cant change it to anything else. did you mean renaming the
file? if you f2 on the file name it should let you type in a filename,
unless it is copyright protected and may require a "special viewer". try
renaming it to weird.jpg and try to open it with you picture viewer. if it
dont work try renaming it with other extensions like, .bmp .jpg .gif .tif
etc.... ask your friend how do they access the pic on their end.
