file location footnote

Is there a way to write a program for Microsoft Word to insert the file
location of a particular document as a footer? This would help our office
personnel to quickly locate Word documents on our servers. Please respond
with any ideas or direction.
 
G'Day AName,

In the Footer:
Insert>Field:
Select: FileName (from list)
CHECK the box: Add path to filename
 
No need for a program. On the Header and Footer toolbar, select "Filename
and path" from the AutoText menu.
