Trying to open a db on another computer in office network. Only this
computer has trouble opening the db, not the other computers in the network.
The db is in shared folder on other computer. Get msg "This file is located
outside your intranet or on an untrusted site. M.Access will not open due to
potential security problems. " Have checked the XP firewall and anything
else I can think of and don't see anything prohibiting. Any ideas?

Fortunately, (for you) just had the same problem. You probably have IE 7
installed. You need to add the computers to your trusted zone. I don't have
IE 7 installed on this computer, but it's not all that much different than
IE 6:

Internet Options >>> Security

Check all the check boxes, then go to the Advanced button and add the
computer names like:

\\ComputerName

Arvin do you know if can you add the local domain or do you have to add all
individual computers?

Just curious,

Susan,

Here are a couple of KB articles that might help:

You receive an error message when you try to open an Access
2002 database from a Web Server:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=810582

Intranet site is identified as an Internet site when you use an
FQDN or an IP address:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=303650

I'm not sure if they address the problem exactly, because I've never
recieved that exact error myself.

Interesting - thank you Arvin!
