File Explorer (My Computer) among others will not open

File Explorer, Administrative Tools, Network and Dial-up
Connections among others will not open. All I get is an
hourglass for a second, sometimes the flash of a window
opening then nothing. I did an upgrade to IE 6.0 (had IE
5.0) about the time this started. Any help resolving this
would be greatly appricated.

Run Add\Remove on IE and choose repair. Then do in the command prompt sfc /purgecache /scannnow. But the best way is to remove IE then re-install it and get the latest Cumulative Update for your version. November 2003 I think it is.
