File Explorer and IE won't start

Had some malware, ran some scans (Defender, AD-AWARE, AVG) now it seems IE7
will only start with 'no add-ons' and my file exlorer will not start off the
Start menu.

Not sure if it's infection or the cure - my real-time stuff perhaps?

I have XP HE SP2.

I've been trying to resolve this on my own and just not getting anywhere
searching MS KB or anywhere else - HELP

Alo I seem to still have something as my firefox opens a tab to

I disabled all my IE add-ons and now they both work. Problem solved sort of
- will leaving them all be disabled cause problems - should I delete them all
and download new versions as required? Don't really want to enable them one
at a time - rather tedious!
