FILE DSOUND.DLL WAS NOT COPIED CORRECTLY! PLEASE HELP ME!

I have had a horrible night. i have tried to install WIN2k pro with my cd
and the format and everything goes well until i get to the copying files
part. it will randomly not copy files. they are different each time i try
to copy. have used a different cd rom, different hard drive and even a
different cd. nothing seems to work so that i can get through the copying
files part of the setup. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
A lot of times this happens because of defective or mis-matched RAM

Different files , different CD, HD and Disk, sounds like a IDE problem or a
memory issue, try the previous mentioned items on a different Mobo and see
if you can set it up, let us know

I STILL have not gotten it done! Tried everything i can think of, swapping
hard drive to another computer and installing windows but when i try to start
it back up in the right computer it just crashes during startup.

i have tried making and using the 4 setup floppies, same thing happens.
have checked the ram in another computer it works. the problem happens when
copying files from the cd-rom. is there any way i can copy the files to the
hard drive on another computer then start setup from the hard drive?

or any other suggestions on how to install windows on another computer and
migrate the hard drive back to the correct computer?

any help is appreciated

POOH. MEMORY TESTED BAD IN ALL 6 TESTS. WHY DOES THE MEMORY WORK ON ANOTHER
BOARD? COULD IT BE THE MOTHERBOARD? OR WOULD THE MEM TEST HAVE IDENTIFIED
THAT? AND THANKS FOR THE LINK. NICE TO BE GETTING SOMEWHERE WITH THIS.
