File date time stamp problem

R

RichGK

I have on my pc a lot of digitial photos I've taken and all have the
correct file created on date time.

If I copy these to a usb memory stick the creation date time remains
unchanged - this is ok.

If I copy to a DVD-R or CD-R and back again the creation date remains
unchanged - this is ok.

If I copy to a USB HDD drive I have (Lacie) the created date time
become the day that I copied the files - which is not ok!

Can anyone tell me why XP is doing this?

Thanks,
Rich.

The Date Created is when the files are created on the hard drive.

XP can hardly set the date arbitrarily to some time before or some time
after the date that the files were ACTUALLY created on the hard drive.

Date Created means the actual time and date that the files were created on
the hard drive.
