file could not be imported???

I took a home video, put it on my computer, and tried to import it to movie
maker, and this is the error i get every time I try : "file could not be
imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from". Anybody
have any idea why it gives me this error, or what I can do to correct it?????

I'm thinking you need to convert the files to .wmv
or .avi before importing into Movie Maker.
