I am using WinXP Pro. When I open what I think is called the file menu by
right-clicking on a folder in Windows Explorer I see four choices for
Archiving using RAR. I used to have Windows Zip with the Zippered folder
icon. At some point I think I opened an RAR file and was prompted to download
and install RAR. I don't really know how these things work. Anyway, I would
like to restore my original Zipper program and disable or uninstall RAR. How
do I do that?

Add/remove in CPanel should remove RAR app.If not, we can delete it in
Registry if we r forced to.

Getting back ZIP app- depends on which 1 u had (WinZip, MS zip, etc).
Better 1's will unpack HTA,UHA, .. lots more

Any advise given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS (Normally, Usually, Generally, Sometimes :)

The "compressed folders" utility is a component of Windows, so you should be
able to install it through Add/Remove programs and then go to the Windows
Components section.

At the same time the RAR utility should be uninstallable from Add/Remove
Programs in the application list.

Click Start, Run and type this command then click OK:
cmd /c assoc .zip=CompressedFolder

Good Luck, Ayush.
