File Auditing: 'Folder Tasks' must be enabled ?

S

Skybuck Flying

Hi,

I made a new folder called: 'AuditTest'.

Then I clicked properties.

Then I clicked security tab

Then I clicked advanced

Then I clicked auditing

Then I clicked add

Then I entered: Users

Then I clicked ok

Then I click 'Full Control' for Successfull and Failed

Then I clicked ok

Then I clicked ok

Then I clicked ok

Then it asked me: 'Folder Tasks' must be enabled ?

I wasn't sure what this was so I said no.

The next time I try it it doesn't ask anymore.

What does it mean with 'Folder Tasks' must be enabled ?

What is that ?

( I have many services disabled etc... but there is no service called
'Folder Tasks' )

( I also checked google for any information about this but I can't find any
information concerning this...
'Folder Tasks' might also be a explorer option or something ? I have no
idea where to look for 'Folder Tasks' in case I want to turn it off again )

Thanks for any help,
Bye,
Skybuck.

Skybuck,

The folder task's list is the collection of task's which
you can preform in the folder / on the folder. It's
listed to the left hand side of the Explorer box,
entitled "File and Folder Tasks".

It's basically the short cuts to the operations you can
carry out within the folder.

Personally i've never come across this issue, but I
wouldn't let it worry you. It probably add's to the
auditing process which you are trying to enable.

[[You can display hyperlinks to common tasks in the left pane of your folder

use Folder Options to enable this feature.]]

Start | Run | Type: control folders | OK |
General tab | Show common tasks in folders
