I'm new to Outlook 2000. In AOL, we could tell the software where we wanted
the file attachments to be downloaded. In Outlook, we figured out how to
view the attachments but not where they download. Thank you for your time.

All Outlook data is stored in your Personal Folders .pst file.

Tools, Send and Receive settings - note that you can only control how much
is downloaded, not if attachments are included.

You can control where attachments get stored when you save them. Until you
open them, they're not stored in separate files on the client machine.
