File Association Problem

Hi,

I've just come across a funny problem with trying to associate video files
(.avi, mpg etc.) with Nero 7.

I follow all the correct steps through file Explorer/Tools/Folder
Options/File Type/Browse/"select" AVI/Change/Browse/"Find and Click" on Nero
Showtime.exe but nothing happens and Nero Showtime does not appear in the
list of available programs to associate with files.

I've tried associating .avi and other video formats with Nero Smart Start
and other programs and they all work OK. It's just Nero Showtime that refuses
to cooperate.

I have just upgraded to XP X64 if that has any effect.

Any help, or a pointer to an existing thred on the subject would be greatly
appreciated.

More information on problem.

Although Nero 7 executes OK and I can drag and drop .avi into the execute
icon, I have discopvered that trying to create a file association is giving
an error of ".......not a valid win32 application"

Does that help anyone to come up with a reason and possibly a solution?
