File As Order

We have a user who has delegate rights to her manager's contacts. When she
enters a new contact that has a suffix, such as DDS or CPA, it files the
contact by first name instead of last. We checked her File As order and it
is set to Last, First. Why would this happen? Could it be that the
manager's file as order is First Last? Thanks for your help!

Perhaps because she's entering the data in the derived field "Full Name".
Entering data in a derived field can lead to misinterpretation of the various
parts. Instead have her click "Full Name" and enter the individual fields,
putting "DDS" or "CPA" in the Sufficx field. See if that works better for
her. I tried "Dr." in the Title, "Joe" in the First Name, "Blow" in the Last
Name", and "DDS" in the suffix, then clicked OK. The "File As" field became
"Blow, Joe" while the Full Name was "Dr. Joe Blow DDS".
