File appearing on the desktop

A file named ~ periodically appears on my desktop, when
scanned for virus it shows to be OK. I keep deleating it
but it reappears every so often.

Due to a recent bug in XP, this file is created when you access or change
your address book. It will continue to reappear for some time to come, until
a fix comes out.

The tilde (~) is a result of this patch:

The file is created when certain changes are made to your address
book. No resolution yet.
