Hi. Recently I tried to use File and Settings Transfer wizard using a
network connection. BOth WIndows running WIndows XP (1 has Service pack 2
and other does not). I run the wizard on old PC then I go to new pc and the
new cannot get to the .DAT file on the old, because it cannot find the OLD
computer!. I try to PING the old PC and it times out. BUt the OLD PC CAN
ping the new. What can I do to make this work? Firewall is OFF on OLD pc.
File and print sharing is on , on OLD pC. I have teh C drive on old PC as a
SHARE with full permissions. PLEASE HELP!

David,

If the old computer can access the new computer, then create a folder in the
new computer, and share it. Then move the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard
image (USMT2.UNC folder) to the newly created share.

If you want to fix the home network problem, try re-running the Network
Setup Wizard.
