Fiinding the IPAddress of the computer the device is conncted to

Hello,

I want to demo my Pocket PC application without having the my laptop
connected to the real network. When the laptop is on the real network, my
application on the device resolves the computername/IPAddress ( in which my
webservice lies) to Access the webservice. But when the laptop is connected
not to the network, I have the problem. If anyone knows how to deal with it,
please let me know. (The database, the webservice everything lies on the
same machine, i.e, the laptop that the device is connected to)

I wonder why not a computer have an Active IPAddress when it is not on
the network and why the device can't find the name/IPadress of the computer
that it is connected to, if the computer is not on the network.

I appreciate your help.

Thanks!!

Paul,

I don't know anything about "ppp_peer". Could you please explain to me.

Thanks!!

You're resolving another address to find the computer name in the ordinary
network case, right? Try "ppp_peer" in the ActiveSync case and see if that
gives you the IP of the connected PC.
