FIFA 2000 does not work!

I have Fifa 2000. I had Windows 98 in my PC. It worked fine when i
installed the game then. After I upgraded to Windows Xp, the game does
not work. When i double click the exe file for the game, absolutely
nothing happens. I treid changing the compatibility options but it
still does not work. Please help.

Hi r.siddharth,

The game patch 1.0 isn't compatible with Windows XP.
You must have had the patch installed before you did the upgrade.
Reinstall the game without patching it and it should launch fine.

Dear Jimmy.S

Is there a version which has the patch along with the main game.? I
have not installed any patch separately and still the problem persists.

Hi Sid,

It's possible that later releases of the game included the upgrades.
You would need to contact the game manufacturer to be certain.

Hi Jimmy.S,

I tried reinstalling the game and it workd fine. But the keyboard
controls do not work if I use the software renderer. They work only if
I use my graphics card. THe graphics are not very good and hence i
would like to know how to make the controls work using software
renderer as it results in faster gameplay.

Hi Sid,

The keyboard controls will have to be sacrificed unless the game
manufacturer has provided a workaround solution or an update..
