Fields

After using the same database for months with no problem. Today I opened my
database file and all my blank fields are filled with the number 90 and those
fields now are included in my calculated fields. How did this happen and how
do I remove them without putting zero's in all records that contain blank
fields HELP

No one has access to my computer so it's not anything that someone else has
done. I can not even delete the number 90 out of the fields. Can someone
with knowledge of access please help.

Check to see if the Format or InputMask property of the fields has somehow
been set to display (without storing) "90".

If that's not it, your database is probably corrupt. See
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm
for a thorough discussion of corruption. You may need to pay big bucks to a
database salvage service if you don't have a current backup...

There is nothing in the format field, I don't know what an Inputmask is so
I'm not sure what to look for there. It is very strange, every field that is
blank now contains the number 90

How many tables? How many fields? Are these text fields, Number fields, both?

It's possible that it's the default value property but that shouldn't affect
existing records. It's sounding more and more like corruption. MAKE A BAcKUP
immediately, if you haven't done so already; don't overwrite any older
backups, you may need them!

Then try Tools... Database Utilities... Compact and Repair. I'm not too
hopeful but it just might help.

This a wierd one!
