Fields in Forms

I want to create a telephone contact report in Word. I am creating a form. I
put a date and time field code in the form so that when the form is opened
the date and time automatically appears. Is there a way to have the date and
time remain what it was when it was first opened or saved, so that if you
opened the form in the future, the date and time of the telephone contact
would be recorded on that form as opposed to inserting the current date and
time? I am using Word 2003.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Dee

You are using a DATE or TIME field rather than a CREATEDATE field. This
field should be put in the original template if possible (instead of
inserting using the keyboard shortcut or header/footer toolbar button).

In the document in question, press Alt-F9 to display field codes. Then
change the field to a CREATEDATE field, press F9 and then Alt-F9.

See http://addbalance.com/word/datefields1.htm for information on the
different kinds of datefields and how to format them.

Hi,

Thanks very much for your help. When I createdate and create the time, the
time that appears is one hour earlier. My windows clock says 12:09 pm but the
field code inserts 11:09 am, even when the time listed in the field code list
says 12:09 pm. When I click on 12:09 pm as the way I want the field
displayed, I get 11:09 am.

Thanks again for your help. You guys are fantastic.

Regards,

Dee
