Field Size Limit Error Messages

S

Simon Dowse

Hi,

Am running Access 2000 and when I try and increase the
number of characters allowed in a text field I am getting
a message which says:

'Too Many Fields Defined'

So I click on 'OK' and then receive the following:

'Errors were encountered during the save operation. Data
types were not changed'

Any ideas what can be done to avoid this!

Can't be bothered to count? You have that many fields, then? Say, how
many? Over 20 usually signals some design flaw.

Unless, of course, you don't want to change the design...

OK...if it takes that long to count the columns, you may very well be
dealing with a table that is not properly designed, which might mean you
will be back later asking for help in other areas....
