Field Calculating Problem

I have created a rather extensive patient information
database. In the one main form I have a combo box that
list the patients that then shows the medication schedules
in a subform. In one field in the subform (up to 20
records showing)when first viewed the data will roll or
shake as it is calculating. It can take as much as 4
minutes before it stops. If the mouse pointer passes over
the field the field calms down and stops within a second
or two. I can not for the life of me find how I can fix
this. All else in the database calculates with no problems.

Any fields using conditional formatting? This can cause re-calc loops.

If not, there is a situation involving Access 2003 on Windows XP that causes
flicker if there are controls on the page of a tab control, but they have
another parent. Details:

This one does not show the word "Calculating..." in the status bar as the
first one does.
